Inspired by the Rummu quarry in Romenia, an abandoned prison now submerged by a lake. When the inmates were transferred and no one was left to pump out water from the quarry, a lake was formed. A metaphor for the importance of taking care of our mental health.

(From musical “Just Be(e)”). Melissa is a rebellious queen bee who escaped her responsibilities by fleeing her hive; she wants a life of fun and games. She recently discovered her a new peril has emerged back home in her queendom, but such is her aversion for hard work (and lack of self-belief) that she won’t do anything about it. Her best friend, vegan spider Spindel, tries to motivate her.

This song was written on a DJ track. The only direction was to provide danceable lyrics. My approach was to make it flirtatious and female-empowering by using “Alice in Wonderland” as a reference and centering the theme around its infamous villain, reimagined here as a strong woman in control
